Once submitted to the dean, an application for promotion is automatically routed to the Provost unless the University Promotions Committee is engaged due to lack of agreement among recommendations or by appeal of the applicant. Following evaluation by the dean, before review by the University Promotions Committee and/or Provost, the individual faculty member may request in writing that the application be withdrawn. This process constitutes an automatic review procedure for recommendations formulated within the University. The process of automatic review does not extend beyond the President’s Office.
